Uber is a technology start-up from San Francisco that creates mobile apps to connect passengers with available drivers. The only thing the company felt could be improved was the already excellent infrastructure available in the public transportation sector. So, Uber decided to launch a branch of its unique transport service in Zurich: private vehicles with drivers that can be ordered as quickly as a taxi using an app.
The ICT company is convinced that Zurich is a hub for the European market, not only thanks to its beautiful setting but also because people from all over the world live here. "We view this market as a tremendous opportunity," Ryan Graves, Head of Global Operations, commented on the location. Seeing as business people from other European markets come to Zurich, he considers the city "a hub for all of Europe".
