ALFA Klebstoffe goes circular

ALFA Klebstoffe AG from Rafz is dedicated to sustainability and the circular economy. This is evident in the company’s processes, which have also been accredited with the corresponding standard, Environmental Management Certification ISO 14001. However, the commitment of ALFA Klebstoffe is first and foremost reflected in its products.

ALFA’s adhesives are water based, solvent free and environmentally friendly. SIMALFA is a prime example. The products in this range have become established as the international standard in the foam industry. At the same time, they have enabled “thousands of tons of solvents to be substituted worldwide each year”.

Now, the circularity of a new product from ALFA Klebstoffe has been confirmed: the ALFAPURA adhesive system has been awarded the Cradle to Cradle Certified GOLD Material Health Certificate. In this achievement, ALFA Klebstoffe was supported by EPEA Switzerland, the accredited assessment body for the Cradle to Cradle Certified certification standard and Material Health Certification based in Bäch.

ALFA Klebstoffe is consequently helping ensure that all used materials can be returned to the biological cycle. What’s more, this certification marks the closing of the circle for the company itself. Since it was founded, ALFA Klebstoffe has produced only solvent-free and environmentally-friendly adhesives and to have been awarded this certificate is almost like receiving a knighthood in the circular economy.
