Zurich – Beekeeper has raised $13 million in a financing round from investors such as Atomico and Samsung. The startup from the Greater Zurich Area has developed an app that integrates every single employee into a company’s communications system.

Beekeeperhas successfully raised $13 million in a financing round. The round was led by the London-based investment firms Atomico and Keen Venture Partners. Also participating were Samsung NEXT, the investment arm of South Korean electronics group Samsung, Swiss Post, Edenred Capital Partners and existing investors FYRFLY Venture Partners and investiere.ch.

Beekeper has developed an app that integrates all employees into a company’s internal communications system, including those who were previously excluded because they did not have access to a company e-mail address, for example. According to Beekeper, some 2 billion non-desk employees worldwide find themselves in this situation, most of whom work in the hospitality, manufacturing or retail industries. The Beekeeper app can be visually adapted to the corporate design of each company and is already being used by more than 500 companies worldwide, including Heathrow Airport and the Hilton group of hotels.

The company intends to use the new capital to drive its strategic growth and better align its platform with current data protection laws.

Founded in 2012, Beekeeper is headquartered in Zurich with an office in San Francisco.
