Zurich – Beekeeper AG has increased the scope of its Series B financing round by a total of 10 million US dollars after securing new investments. Overall, the company has closed the round for a total of 60 million US dollars. Beekeeper AG has impressed investors with its platform for internal corporate communications.

With its platform for internal corporate communications, Beekeeper AG has managed to win over additional investors. In this context, the Zurich-based start-up has secured additional investment in the amount of 10 million US dollars as part of its Series B financing round. The additional capital has been primarily obtained from the US venture capital firm Energize Ventures, as detailed in a LinkedIn post. Overall, Beekeeper has closed the financing round after raising a total of 60 million US dollars in new funding.

The Beekeeper platform also connects employees to internal communication channels who were previously excluded from these – because they may not have had a company email address, for example. The solution can be adapted to aesthetically reflect the company’s own corporate design scheme. It can be used, for example, in the hotel and hospitality industry, the construction sector or even logistics, not forgetting the healthcare sector as well. In this context, the Beekeeper platform helped the 2,000 employees at the Baden Cantonal Hospital (KSB) to get to grips with the challenges presented by the coronavirus crisis. “At KSB, the Beekeeper app has now become one of the most important information channels for our staff”, comments Stefan Wey, Deputy Director for Marketing and Communications at KSB.

The start-up is now planning to use this fresh capital for the further development of its platform. A new version that is set to offer innovative functionality and an automated translation tool into more than 100 languages is already in the pipeline.

Beekeeper was also recognized as one of the 50 most promising high-tech companies in Europe with the potential to develop into a unicorn at this year’s international Tech Tour Growth 50 Summit in Geneva.
