Luterbach SO – On Tuesday, Schaffner turned the first sod for its new Luterbach headquarters, which the international industrial corporation will move into in the second half of 2019.

Schaffner’s new headquarters is being built close to the group’s existing base in Luterbach.

The two-storey new-build, which the company plans to move into in the second half of 2019, will comprise up to 140 workspaces, a test laboratory, the research and marketing departments, and the group management offices.

“Schaffner has been based in Luterbach for more than 50 years, and we are delighted to now be part of the dynamic development around the up-and-coming Attisholz-Süd quarter,” commented Marc Aeschlimann, CEO of the Schaffner Group, in a statement.

Schaffner develops and manufactures filters and components that ensure the reliable operation of power electronic systems. Its portfolio of products is deployed in electronic motor controls, wind power and photovoltaic systems, rail technology applications, robots and the automotive industry.

Research and development, prototype construction, management, marketing and sales are currently located at Schaffner’s headquarters in Luterbach. According to the latest annual report, the group employs around 3,760 staff worldwide.
