Zurich - Steiner AG and House of Lab Science are joining forces to set up innovation parks for life sciences firms. The first step includes plans for two new innovation parks. One of these is to be located in the Greater Zurich Area.

Steiner is joining forces with House of Lab Science, a start-up based in the canton of Zurich that specializes in establishing and operating innovation parks for life sciences firms, further details of which can be found in a press release issued by the real estate service provider from Zurich. In a first step, the two partners have drawn up plans to set up two new innovations parks in Winterthur and Basel. For this, Steiner AG will bring its expertise in real estate development and corresponding resources to the table, while House of Lab Science will contribute its community platform as well as its contacts in the life sciences industry and start-up scene to the partnership.

“With the foothold in Basel, we will be providing support to one of Switzerland’s two main life sciences clusters, allowing us to benefit from the significant synergies within these ecosystems”, comments Christian Hugo Hoffmann, CEO of House of Lab Science, in the press release. “Meanwhile, in Winterthur we will once again demonstrate our core competency by successfully constructing a new center – despite comparatively fewer network effects”, he adds.

Steiner’s “Manufakt” concept is to be used in the development of the innovation park. This involves the use of modular spaces that allow areas to be flexibly divided as required. The first building constructed in line with this concept was opened in the summer of 2021 following a construction time of nearly 18 months, Steiner writes in the press release.
