Las Vegas - Switzerland is the world number two for innovation. This is reflected in the new ranking list of the Consumer Technology Association. The country scored particularly well in the areas of freedom, adaptability and internet speed.

On Friday, the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) came to an end in Las Vegas. The US Consumer Technology Association (CTA) presented its new ranking list for the most innovative countries in the world at the Electronic Show. According to this, Switzerland is the second most innovative country in the world. It is just behind Estonia.

The CTA examines for its ranking list how the respective countries are doing in 14 different categories. Switzerland earns top points (A+) for the availability of fast internet, adaptability and in the environment category. The latter examines the quality of air and drinking water. Switzerland also scores very well (A) in the categories of diversity, civil and political freedom, research spending, options for short-term renting and for advances in the area of autonomous vehicles. Entrepreneurial activities in the country are rated highly too (A-).

Finland, the US, Singapore and the UK follow in the ranking list behind Switzerland. Germany makes it to 16, France to 17 and Italy to 25, with the EU as a whole making an appearance at 22.
