Livio Marzo, CEO of Thommen Medical, laid the foundation stone for his company’s new production and customer center. “With the construction of a new building in Grenchen, we are pursuing two fundamental objectives”, he explains in a press release issued by the dental implant manufacturing firm. A cutting-edge training center will facilitate direct contact between customers and the company’s experts. Moreover, the expansion of the production center will lead to “a further increase in the efficiency of our manufacturing”.

Covering a total area of 2,700 square meters, the new building will make both automation in production and optimization of processes easier, the press release states. In addition, previously outsourced business units are to be integrated in the new buildings, while space for training customers, partners and employees will also be created. Over the longer term, the company is aiming to create 20 new jobs here as well.

The new building is scheduled to be opened in the fourth quarter of 2021 to mark the 20th birthday of Thommen Medical. The project is being realized by a real estate company that will lease the premises to Thommen Medical.

Manufacturing processes are located at Thommen Medical AG’s proprietary factory in Grenchen in the canton of Solothurn. It operates subsidiaries in Switzerland, Germany and North America. The company is represented by distributors across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
