Kloten/Lugano - The 12 finalists of the Food Tech Award 2022 will present their innovative solutions in front of a jury on October 26 at the Microsoft Switzerland headquarters. The final is being organized by the Lifestyle Tech Competence Center. The shortlisted finalists also include four start-ups based in Switzerland.

The winners of the Food Tech Award 2022 are set to be announced on October 26. The international competition was originally launched by the two food companies Barilla and Lavazza, which are also both members of the Lifestyle Tech Competence Center (LTCC) at Switzerland Innovation Park Ticino in Lugano in the canton of Ticino. The best solutions in the two categories of Customer Retention and Data-Based Added Value are being sought. Pitch Day will be held at the headquarters of Microsoft Switzerland in The Circle at Zurich Airport in Kloten in the canton of Zurich.

Four Swiss companies are among the twelve finalists. Beaconsmind from Stäfa in the canton of Zurich with its location-based marketing software, The Nemesis from Lugano with its AI-based entertainment platform for customer loyalty, Weecher from Lausanne with its branded loyalty card and Nexoya from Zurich with its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for marketing professionals. In terms of the other finalists, four come from the USA, with one each from Germany, Ireland, Israel and Turkey.

A 29-strong jury made up of representatives from both Barilla and Lavazza in addition to retailers from Italy and Switzerland will decide the two winners. Moreover, LTCC member firms including Accenture, Microsoft and UBS will also be represented on the jury alongside representatives from venture capital firms and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI).
