The startup company Augmented Future from Rwanda develops digital games based on augmented reality to enable learning. Using its technology, users can interact with physical items in museums, for example. Now, the company has integrated a Swiss payment solution developed by the Zug-based fintech relario, announced a statement.
With relario’s development, users can pay by SMS instead of credit card – a factor that appealed to the startup from Africa. “The conventional bank payment process was not an option due to low adoption of credit cards in Sub Saharan Africa, many having no access to bank systems,” commented Confident Niyizibyose, founder and managing director of Augmented Future, in the statement.
Relario’s payment solution is available in more than 100 countries. According to the company, it is already being used by 60 million people, who collectively carry out around five million transactions per month.
