The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters

The World Economic Forum has announced that the next annual meeting will be held in Davos-Klosters once more. It was originally supposed to be held in Singapore in August, but that was not possible due to the emergence of the Delta variant of the coronavirus. The summit will now once again bring together leading figures from the worlds of economics, politics, and civil society at the Davos Congress Center from January 17 to 21, 2022. The theme is “Working Together, Restoring Trust”.

According to information from the WEF, this will be the first global leader event to set the agenda for sustainable recovery. Acceleration of stakeholder capitalism, the use of technology in the fourth industrial revolution, and safeguarding an integrative working future are also said to be set to take center stage. Furthermore, tackling climate change is also on the agenda. The press release states that this is a “critical year for leaders to come together and shape necessary partnerships and policies.”

Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the WEF, is quoted in the press release, saying: “The pandemic has brought far-reaching changes. In a world full of uncertainty and tension, personal dialog is more important than ever. Leaders have an obligation to work together and rebuild trust, increase global cooperation and work towards sustainable, bold solutions.”
