As part of its Global Transparency Initiative, Kaspersky Lab is moving several core processes from Russia to Switzerland. According to a statement announcing the move, this will include customer data storage and processing for most regions as well as software assembly.
By the end of 2019, Kaspersky Lab will also have opened a data centre in Zurich, where it will store and process all information for users in Europe, North America, Singapore, Australia, Japan and South Korea, with more countries to follow.
Software will also start to be assembled in Zurich before the end of 2018, including applications for software updates. These will be verified by an independent organization in Switzerland before being released worldwide. The source code of Kaspersky Lab produces will be available for review by stakeholders in its Transparency Center, which will also be hosted in Switzerland and is expected to open this year.

Transparency is one such need, and that is why we’ve decided to redesign our infrastructure and move our data processing facilities to Switzerland,” said Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Lab.
