Schindellegi/Mountain View - Kühne+Nagel and Chorus are working together on real-time solutions for road logistics. The new technology developed by the Alphabet subsidiary and the experience of the Swiss logistics specialist aims to improve transparency and resilience in the global supply chain.

Kühne+Nagel based in the canton of Schwyz in the Greater Zurich Area and Project Chorus from X, the moonshot factory at Google’s parent company, Alphabet, have entered into a partnership. From March 16, together they will offer real-time services providing information on transparency and the state of global supply chains and logistical processes.

According to a press release by Kühne+Nagel, Chorus’s technology aims to “radically improve our understanding of where physical goods are located, where they are needed, what state they are in, and how they are used”. The first customers for this new sensor and orchestration technology will be from the healthcare sector, with other industries to come in future.

The technology will be integrated into Kühne+Nagel’s digital road logistics offering, eTrucknow. With this partnership, both companies hope to gain insights that can feed into new applications.

Stefan Paul, Member of the Management Board of Kuehne+Nagel International AG, responsible for Road Logistics and Sales, is quoted in the press release, stating: “We are focused on developing solutions for some of the toughest global supply chain problems. […] By combining visibility with intelligence we aim to provide our customers more accurate, actionable and data-driven insights into the overall health of their supply chain down to carton level.”
