Zurich – The German agritech company Plantix has taken over Salesbee, a start-up from the Greater Zurich Area. Salesbee has established an SME platform to digitalize agriculture markets. Plantix aims to use the acquisition to grow in India and Southeast Asia.

Plantix is a company from Berlin that specializes in artificial intelligence in the agriculture sector. According to a press release, Plantix has now acquired Salesbee, a start-up from Zurich. The purchase price has not been disclosed.

Salesbee has developed a platform that links SMEs in the agricultural sector. The aim is to digitalize the agricultural industry in India and Southeast Asia. Plantix now hopes to use Salesbee’s platform to grow further in these markets.

According to the information, Plantix aims to bring over 20 million farmers and more than 200,000 retailers to Salesbee’s platform over the next three years. Martin Kuetter, COO of Plantix states: “This will contribute to digitizing the SMEs from the agriculture market to an unprecedented extent.”

According to the statement, Salesbee founder Anand Pareek hopes to concentrate on a new business with other partners after the acquisition. He has already founded the company Buyogo.com with headquarters in Meilen in the canton of Zurich. This aims to bring technological solutions for SMEs in Switzerland and the EU onto the market.
