Winterthur ZH – The textile machine manufacturer Rieter now offers a smartphone app that makes it possible to monitor key data about production, quality and energy at spinning mills, allowing mill personnel to react quickly to prevent costly downtime.

Short reaction times are crucial to improving the efficiency of machines in spinning mills, according to Rieter. The company from the Greater Zurich Area has now launched an app that will make it easier to monitor production. The user can set limits regarding production, quality and energy values. As soon as any of the set limits are exceeded or undershot, the user receives a notification on their smartphone, allowing them to quickly take appropriate action.

The application also includes a cockpit feature, which gives an overview of the running production efficiency over the entire Rieter machines, from fibre preparation to end spinning. This enables mill personnel to monitor all important spinning mill data in real time and therefore improve production efficiency.

Rieter is one of the world’s leading suppliers of systems for short-staple fibre spinning. The company develops and manufactures machinery, systems and components for converting natural and manmade fibres and their blends into yarns. It has 18 manufacturing locations in 10 countries.
