Zurich - Seervision is further strengthening its market in Asia. Now the ETH spin-off has entered into a partnership with the Chinese film production company Topcool Media. Its automated camera technology based on artificial intelligence is to be used in large productions.

According to a press release by Seervision, it will be collaborating with Topcool Media based in Shanghai in future. The film production company supplies its Chinese clients with everything required for large film, television and video productions. Now the automated camera technology created by Seervision, a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH), is an option for those clients.

With this, Seervision is further strengthening its position in the Asian market. Just one month ago, the company announced that it was working together with the Japanese company ASK Corporation. Together, they now also equip Japanese production companies with Seervision’s innovative technology.

The company, founded in 2016, has developed a camera technology called Seervision Suite, which is based on artificial intelligence. It can recognize and track the movements of a person. In doing so, it autonomously adjusts the focus, zoom and picture detail.

Co-Founder and CEO Nikos Kariotoglou is quoted in the press release, saying: “The eagerness that Topcool has shown for the Seervision Suite, particularly considering the size of the events that Topcool is involved in, has been a great motivator for us. It is also a great opportunity to demonstrate the scalability of the Seervision Suite and its potential in large-scale video productions.”
