Smartbridge, a company headquartered in the Greater Zurich Area, has expanded into the area of healthcare in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Its software package Staffcloud is now also being used to organize the vaccination rollout in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), the largest federal state in Germany, which was initially started over the Christmas period. The software is additionally being used for the same purpose in the Swiss cantons of Thurgau, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Schaffhausen.

Before being implemented, the Staffcloud tool was thoroughly tested, according to co-founder and Head of Marketing & Sales, Thomas Ungricht, who was quoted in an article published by startupticker.ch. The availability of the required medical experts is being managed by way of Staffcloud, which also allows assignments to be planned in addition to recording and billing working times.

Smartbridge had already developed and launched Staffcloud in 2018. The solution supports companies in various industries by allowing them to flexibly manage their workforce. In 2019, the client base for this software grew by more than 20 percent. In 2020, the most important customer segments, namely events, catering and retail, collapsed due to the coronavirus pandemic. In response to this crisis, Smartbridge expanded its field of activities to include the healthcare and construction industries. For this, two new developers were recruited, bringing Smartbridge’s staff complement to 12 employees in total.

The new customer portal above all enables recruitment agencies and HR departments to maintain a clear overview of available staff. In this way, communication is made easier. At the moment, the portal is being tested and fine-tuned with the help of 20 to 30 new and existing customers. Official market launch is expected to take place in the first half of 2021.
