Sharjah/Zug - The University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates is starting a research project with the BSV Blockchain Association based in the Greater Zurich Area. The aim is to develop a Metaverse system to preserve the cultural heritage of the UAE.

The University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has entered into a partnership with the Zug-based BSV Blockchain Association, further details of which can be found in a press release. The partners will develop a Metaverse system based on blockchain technology as part of a joint research project. The Metaverse is a network of virtual 3D worlds.

The new Metaverse system is intended to preserve the cultural heritage of the UAE and Islam. In this context, pieces of art and their digital twins will be displayed and traded. This idea is also being supported by the UAE government.

The collaboration should also result in the formation of a start-up and create new jobs, as Jimmy Nguyen, founding president of the BSV Bitcoin Association, explains in the announcement.

The global BSV Bitcoin Association is behind the BSV Blockchain and the digital currency BSV. The association is committed to ensuring that companies, developers and other stakeholders are in a position to integrate its blockchain system.
