Zurich/San Francisco - The software firm Certifaction has raised gross proceeds in the amount of 5 million euros following a successful financing round. The lead investor here was the Californian venture capital firm Expa, which was founded by Uber co-founder Garrett Camp.

The Zurich-based start-up Certifaction has raise a total of 5 million euros as part of a financing round. This was led by the Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm Expa, as detailed in a LinkedIn post. Expa was founded by Uber co-founder Garrett Camp and is managed by former executives from Twitter, LinkedIn, Uber and Google. In addition to Expa, the investors also included Seedcamp from London, HV Capital from Munich and Wingman Ventures from Zurich.

Certifaction has developed a solution for digital signatures that, according to the company, totally preserves the privacy of users. The start-up now has its sights set on international growth. In line with this, several branches are to be opened outside of Switzerland, with the aim of doubling the size of the company.

“We are delighted to welcome amazing investors onboard who support us in our core belief that digitization should not be at the expense of data confidentiality and privacy. We’re well positioned to create our own category within a multi-billion-dollar eSigning market with a unique modular eSigning platform serving enterprise customers”, Certifaction writes in its LinkedIn post.
