Columbia/Zurich - The University of Zurich has been selected to join the Universities Space Research Association. This represents major recognition for the achievements of its Space Hub, the range of training courses, Ph.D programs and number of cooperation partners.

The University of Zurich (UZH) is now one of 115 universities that form part of the Universities Space Research Association (USRA). According to a recent press release issued by the USRA, which is headquartered in the US State of Maryland, UZH was officially inducted into the association on March 25, 2022. The USRA is a non-profit organization that promotes collaboration between NASA and the university research community. It was founded in 1969 at the initiative of NASA and the National Academy of Sciences in Washington.

“We are very pleased to welcome University of Zurich as a USRA member”, comments Dr. Jeffrey A. Isaacson, President and CEO of USRA, in the press release. “The University’s outstanding work - especially in its space-related disciplines - adds to the collective strength of our Association”, he concludes. USRA also highlighted the research and development achievements of the UZH Space Hub, the wide range of training courses, the demanding Ph.D programs and its number of cooperation partners.
