A new training scheme is intended to help the blockchain environment, especially in Crypto Valley, by developing qualified young people to work in this sector. To this end, the training company TIE International has designed a blockchain apprenticeship.

As detailed in a press release issued by Inacta, Switzerland needs more than 117,000 new skilled workers in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) by the year 2028. This demand for talent can now also be seen in the fast-growing Crypto Valley region of Switzerland, where young specialists with specific knowledge of new technologies such as blockchain are above all needed.

The blockchain apprenticeship builds on computer science and mediamatics teaching and will be expanded to cover blockchain technology in the areas of fintech, crypto and smart contracts, for example. Second year apprentices will then be expected to work for a training company. The first apprentice starts at Inacta in August, with CV VC will also set to welcome an apprentice in the field of mediamatics EFZ with a focus on blockchain from August onwards as well.

“We've been working hard to break down educational structures in the area of blockchain technology so that we can specifically train ICT professionals in this environment”, explains Barbara Surber, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of TIE International, in the press release. She adds: “Our collaboration with Inacta and CV VC lays a foundation that will hopefully be followed by many more apprenticeships in Crypto Valley”.
