Designwerk has won this year’s Green Business Award, further details of which are included in a LinkedIn post. The company successfully won over the jury with its electric trucks, which the company has commercialized under the brand Futuricum. The vehicles are manufactured at Designwerk’s production premises located in Winterthur and are already being used by delivery companies such as DPD. Back in the spring of this year, the Swedish automotive giant Volvo became the lead investor in Designwerk. In addition to trucks, the company also manufactures mobile rapid charging devices and high-voltage battery systems.
The Green Business Award is presented by the cooperation Green Business Switzerland. It aims to reflect the positive relationship between business success and sustainable operations. Doris Leuthard, former President of the Swiss Confederation, acts as Jury President. Alongside Designwerk, Wingtra from Zurich and Kern AG from Konolfingen in the canton of Bern also made the final round for the prize. In total, 40 solutions developed by Swiss companies were nominated for the Green Business Award.
Various stakeholders from the worlds of business and environmental protection are behind Green Business Switzerland. The cooperation with launched by the Swiss Environmental Foundation and the association Go for Impact. The Green Business Award is regarded as a continuation of the previous environmental business award.
