Thalwil ZH – Based in the Greater Zurich Area, the company u-blox is joining forces with the Japanese software giant Softbank and its subsidiary Ales. Together, the partners will seek to deliver improvements to services in connection with the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).

The chip and sensor manufacturer u-blox has announced that it has entered into a partnership with the Japanese firm Softbank and its subsidiary Ales. Together, the partners intend to collaborate in the area of GNSS augmentation services. The aim of the partnership is to improve the precision and accuracy of GNSS services.

According to the information from u-blox, GNSS improvement services are currently tailored to specific countries and regions. The goal is now to facilitate a rollout of such services across a wider range of countries. Accordingly, a global infrastructure for the improvement of position data is to be set up.

According to the press release, all three companies have already amassed experience in this area. For example, Softbank and Ales offer services in Japan, while u-blox is active in the USA and across Europe.

Since then, it has developed into a leading company in the area of technological innovations.
