On June 21-23, Switzerland and Singapore will hold the Point Zero Forum for the first time. According to a press release issued by the Federal Department of Finance (FDF), this event will be a global fintech conference held in Zurich and will be directed towards executives in the public and private financial and economic sectors in particular. The aim here will be to promote and drive innovations in connection with the digitalization of the finance sector.
“As one of the world's leading and innovative financial centers, Switzerland is ideally placed to host this event, which will bring international financial market and supervisory authorities together with new players from the world of fintech”, comments Federal Councilor Ueli Maurer in the press release. Maurer will open the conference together with the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, Heng Swee Keat, according to whom the conference will “add to the global fintech momentum and strengthen the global movement for innovation and change”.
Thomas Jordan, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB), will also participate in the conference. In the press release, he highlighted the close collaboration between the SNB and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in the fintech space. Both central banks “are heavily involved in the BIS Innovation Hub with the Swiss and Singapore centers”, he emphasized.
